Pot Magnets with Internal Threaded Mounting
DescriptionBuy Internal Threaded Mounting online with Bunting – eMagnets™The Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Mounting is also known to many as a Deep Pot Magnet. This section contains the Deep Pot Magnets that were previously in the Red Magnets Range and also the Neo Pot Magnets from the Neodymium Magnets range. The Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Mounting can be attached to other items by using screws or bolts with M3, M4, M5, M6 and M8 threads. The Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Mounting exists in Alnico, NdFeB and SmCo formats. Most of these have chrome, zinc, nickel or red paint coated mild steel casings. The Alnico Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Mounting is rated for use up to +220 deg C. The NdFeB Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Mounting is rated for use up to +80 deg C. The SmCo Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Mounting is suitable for very high temperature applications. We also offer a range of SmCo Extreme Pot Magnets for maximum performance in extreme conditions (E1038 and E1039). They are ideal for high temperature corrosion resistant applications. Unlike Neodymium magnets, the Samarium Cobalt magnets do not corrode when in damp environments. SmCo magnets perform without corrosion in marine environments (salt spray, high humidity). To prevent corrosion of the Pot Magnet steel casing, the steelwork of the SmCo Extreme Pot Magnet is upgraded to a ferritic stainless steel (SS 430 grade). The supplied hook is upgraded to stainless steel (SS 304 grade) to aid with corrosion resistance. The adhesive in the SmCo Extreme Pot Magnet is also improved to cope with temperatures of up to +300 degrees C.The end result is a SmCo Extreme Pot Magnet capable of being used in water for prolonged time periods without corrosion. The SmCo Extreme Pot Magnet will work in marine environments due to its superior corrosion resistance properties. The SmCo Extreme Pot Magnet is also capable of working over an extremely wide temperature range, far in excess of the standard NdFeB Pot Magnets. For use in dry, room temperature conditions the SmCo Extreme Pot Magnets are not quite as strong as the similarly sized NdFeB Pot Magnets. But at temperatures above +80 degrees C, the NdFeB Pot Magnets start to have reduced output as the heat starts to demagnetise them. The SmCo Pot Magnets will operate with little drop in performance up to +80 deg C and can be used at much higher temperatures. The SmCo Extreme Pot Magnet has been designed to perform at temperatures up to +300 degrees C. It may be possible to use SmCo Extreme Pot Magnets at up to +350 degrees C but the adhesive may start to fail (it is rated to +300 deg C).For use at cold temperatures the adhesives become the main issue because all adhesives become brittle and risk failing at cold temperatures (although they may recover when warmed back up). The SmCo Extreme Pot Magnet can be used at cold temperatures when taking this into account (Pot Magnets containing ferrite magnets are not suitable for very cold applications as the cold starts to demagnetise them; this is a feature linked only with ferrite magnets). Ignoring adhesive effects, it is possible to use the SmCo Extreme Pot Magnet to hold onto ferromagnetic structures at very low temperatures (e.g. to -100 degrees C) although suitability for use towards cryogenic temperatures (i.e. towards -273 degrees C), for which Samarium Cobalt magnets on their own are definitely suitable, is theoretically possible with a SmCo Extreme Pot Magnet but is, as yet, untested. The Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Mounting range offers maximum clamping forces from 0.8kg up to 50kg.We have an extended range of Pot Magnet with Internal Threaded Mounting available – please contact us for the brochure (we may require a minimum order quantity). It is also possible for us to produce bespoke Pot Magnets with Internal Threaded Mounting but a minimum order quantity may be required (the minimum quantity depends on the size, shape and performance required).
