Our iron and manganese units include ABS lined cylinder, Automatic back wash valve. 1.5m drain hose.Type: Iron and manganese reduction unitThis filter is designed to collect Iron and Manganese and Hydrogen Sulphide (the rotten egg smell) from the water during the day and automatically backwash at night to clean the Iron and Manganese it has collected during the day. This filter is designed for properties that don't have cold water storage in the loft so the Iron will need to treat the water as it is required so if 2 baths are running at once the filter must be able to cope without causing a flow restriction.This filter has a Potassium Permanganate backwash to help with the backwashing of the filter, rest assured the Potassium Permanganate is not used to treat the water it is only used to clean the media in the filter similar to putting rinse aid in the dishwasher.The Iron and Manganese filter will also need a pressurised supply of water to backwash with so will need to be fitted after the pressure vessel although this filter wiil work in other applications but this will need to be specified when ordering.It is always advisable to email a test report on your water before buying the filter to ensure the filter is right for your water or alternatively you could give us a call as the advice is free! For use with potable water to reduce levels of Iron, Manganese and Hydrogen sulphide.This is a filter for essentially low contamination levels with a flow rate of up to around 35 lpm depending on contamination levels.The potassium Permanganate is a cleaning agent used to clean the media more thoroughly than using water alone the Potassium Permanganate will need recharging every 6 months.Please Note: Potassium Permanganate is a controled substance and therefore we require you to fill out a declaration form and return it to us (by email or post) before we can dispatch your goods.Potassium Permanganate Declaration Form ()Regulation 31 approval by the Drinking Water Inspectorate.
