Vibratory Compaction Unit Optimises Container Filling
05-06-2015
Designing and manufacturing a bespoke vibrating compaction unit for a loss in weight auger filler, Applied Vibration recently provided a new customer method by which they could optimise the filling of their granular product into tubular containers. The application of vibration allows the product grains to nest and displaces previously trapped air, and after vibration a consistent reduction in volume of 12 percent was seen over the unvibrated filled state. The unit was designed to allow the quick change over of three different tube sizes maintaining a common filling position. Its control was integrated with the existing filling machine run cycle.
Vibratory compaction is frequently used to compact many products, such as powders in drums and sweets in boxes or containers, often allowing customers to reduce their container size and reduce packing costs. Vibratory compaction can also be used to provide some stability to products in more flexible containers and is often used to improve the stability of bulk bags for storage and transport.Visit the Applied Vibration Ltd website for more information on Vibratory Compaction Unit Optimises Container Filling
