Here at Archer Technicoat Ltd we were set up by Nick and Wendy Archer in 1981. Previously Nick had worked at the Fulmer Research Institute and he had identified a number of CVD processes with a strong commercial promise.

We then became part of Morgan Crucible Group in 1988. In 1995 the management purchased the company from Morgan Crucible so ATL then became independent again.

In 1996 here at ATL we signed a licensing agreement with Ionbond AG of Olten, Switzwerland (formerly Berna AG). Meaning that ATL’s CVD & CVI equipment portfolio will be supplied by a partnership of both IonBond and ATL. This agreement has continued to this very day.
