A building contractor recently approached Brooks Forgings to produce a series of complex bends for a bespoke handrail installation project.

These hot-formed bends, comprising 11 different variants, were crafted from 32mm diameter solid mild steel bars. As the bends were intended for decorative handrails, the final appearance and finish were crucial. To achieve this, we developed specialist force-dissipating tooling to prevent deformation, ensuring the material remained round and smooth throughout the process.

A total of 108 bends were manufactured and delivered to our customer for final fabrication.
