PVC Conveyor Belts
The workhorse conveyor belt for warehousing, pick-and-pack, and general materials handling purposes. If you see a conveyor belt machine, the chances are that it is using a PVC belt !Around 2mm thick, and able to go around rollers of 75mm or more, a 2-Ply PVC conveyor belt is a simple and economical choice for most conveyor applications. Pro's: Cost effective and simple. Can be built with a variety of additional features such as grip-top surfaces, flights, sidewalls, and tracking guides. Can be formed into endless loops by either vulcanising, or with steel belt fasteners.Con's: Not suitable for use with oils (vegetable or mineral), not usually used with food-based products. For these situations, PU (Polyurethane) conveyor belts tend to be a superior option. (they can also go around thinner rollers). PVC belts are also susceptible to long-term damage by heavy exposure to ultra-violet light (including sunlight). Again, PU belts are superior in this situation.Visit the Central Conveyor Belting and Accessories website for more information on PVC Conveyor Belts
