What happens inside a mechanical clock ?

06-12-2021

One use for Real Time X-Ray is to see things moving in “real time” Maybe you have an electro mechanical device which fails occasionally during operation but when it is stripped down everything checks out OK. What you really need to see is the device working and failing inside. One of our Automotive customers had just this problem with the engine speed control system; occasionally the throttle would stick which is not good. Dissembly of the faulty part did not show any defect and all of the components were within manufacturing tolerances. Looking at the real time X-Ray image of the assembly whilst it was working was the only way to find out what was going wrong. follow the link to see the inside of the clock and about 30 seconds in you will see the wake up ALARM going off, Interesting ?
