KALSEP LAUNCHES NEW FIBROTEX AX5 FILTER

10-04-2015

Kalsep has specialised for over 20 years in providing engineered solutions for the Water, Wastewater, Manufacturing and Process industries and has become firmly established as a leading supplier of filtration equipment. In response to a requirement for smaller, compact and cheaper filtration equipment, Kalsep is launching its new AX5 model of the Fibrotex filter. The AX5 filter can be used on many water sources, including boreholes, rivers and canals thus minimising the consumption of costly mains water. With its range of element materials, one of the main benefits of installing the AX5 filter is that it can provide a variety of performance ratings down to 98% removal of 2µm particles. It has WRAS listed materials for potable water use. Capable of filtering flows of 0 - 3m³ per hour, with low backwash volumes, the new AX5 has a footprint of just over 0.5 metre square and 1.4m high (requiring a clearance height for element removal of just 1.6m). It is fully automatic and requires low maintenance. Applications for the new AX5 include:- • iron and manganese removal from boreholes; • filtration of potable supplies drawn from non-mains source i.e. borehole, river; mains water polishing; • pre-treatment prior to Reverse Osmosis; • protection of disposable membrane cartridge filters; • filtration of recycled process waters and • industrial effluent polishing. The AX5 Filter compares favourably with iron removal filters, sandfilters and cartridge filters, both in media replacement and operating cost. There are no issues with media replacement and each element can be replaced in under half an hour, giving improved performance over media filters. New Data Sheets for this and all our products are now available.
