Highest Pulse Energy 100mJ YLF Lasers Available

23-11-2014

Photonics Industries (PI) was the first to develop high efficiency Q-Switched, intra-cavity second harmonic Nd:YLF green pump lasers back in 1993. PI continues to lead this technology today, outpacing ourselves and the competition again with the introduction of our new DM100-527, the highest pulse energy laser: 100mJ @ 1kHz 50mJ @3 kHz in a single polarization commercially available. Furthermore this high pulse energy is scalable to 200mJ with the DM100-527 in a dual head configuration for applications ranging from ultrafast Ti:Sapphire amplifier pumping and Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) to annealing semiconductor materials for the power industry. Pulse Energy Laser In the Ultrafast laser community, higher pulse energy pump laser experiments at low rep rates are proving to be effective. The trend now is to move to higher pulse energies at higher (~ kHz) rep rates. The excellent beam quality of the DM Series laser (M2 ~9 to 15) combined our shorter pulse widths compared to the competition has been demonstrated to be more suitable for ultrafast pumping. Also since PI’s DM Series laser is designed with a large thermal lensing tolerance range, the DM laser is much less sensitive to thermal lensing. Thermal lensing limits the ability to changing rep rates. (e.g., 1kHz to 10kHz) Unlike our competition, the DM lasers’ rep rates can be varied from the front panel by the end-user in the field. PI’s product roadmap is based on customer needs. For example the PIV community has been asking for higher pulse energy twin pulses. To achieve ~50mJ in each pulse, this required the use of a dual head laser. However with a single DM100 laser, by using PI’s patented twin pulse feature, you can now get twin pulse of 50mJ each from a single laser head.
