New Moulding Machines to increase capacity

With the recent purchase of 2 new 35T Arburgs this gives us more capacity of running our commodity products around the clock, ready for immediate delivery as required. In total we now have 17 moulding machines ranging from 6T – 200T and with the recent win of a major contract with a multi-national company we are now manufacturing 24/5. Increasing production hours has also meant a growth of staff members and since January we have taken on 8 x Packing Operatives, 2 x Material Handlers and 1 Toolsetter Additional investment in the company has been on :- Updating all machines with spru-picker robots, all machines now have a dedicated spru grinding machine along with conveyors, this now makes each machine a complete production cell ensuring maximum efficiency on 24 hour running. We have the very latest energy saving lighting fitted throughout the company along with installing ‘Power Factor Correction’ which we believe is the way forward to reducing our energy requirements on the planet and of course a reduction in our fuel bills. Our mouldshop is unique to others as we offer a wide range of second operations giving our customer the complete finished product. Our Packing Operatives are fully trained to carry out the various processes required such as insert moulding, pad printing, laser etching, sonic welding, assembly of critical bearings and building up kits to the customer specifications. Supplying many industries also gives our customers the confident of our experience and knowledge in both tool making and injection moulding, offering the solution before the problem arises. With the new machines and increase of staff, S&S Plastics are excited for the future and growth of the company.
